Changing Directions is a voluntary program designed to assist individuals in re-entering the work force at a level that is conducive to their personal situations and abilities.
This program will provide:
- Extensive Pre-Employment Assessments
- Career Exploration & Labour Market Information
- Individualized, Outreach-Style Supports
- Job Maintenance Strategies & Supports
Who can participate?
This is a voluntary program designed to assist individuals in re-entering the work force at a level that is conducive to their personal situations and abilities. You can participate in the program if you are 18 years of age, receiving benefits from Human Services - Alberta Works and have a personal desire to reassess previous employment and reconnect to new opportunities within your local labour market!
You will be connected with an Employment Specialist who will work with you one on one in your community to assess your current situation and capacity to work.
Career Planning and Exploration
We offer Individualized supports in researching the career path that is right for you and developing a structured plan to help you get there.
Connecting to Community Resources
You'll receive support to connect you with the appropriate community resources, as well as assistance in coordinating services to promote a positive outcome.
Job Maintenance Strategies & Supports
An an Employment Specialist will provide you with six months of continued Job Maintenance and Supports.
This program is available to the Central Region including Red Deer and surrounding area, in addition to Stettler, Wetaskiwin, Camrose, Hanna, Ponoka and the surrounding communities.
